POP TART!

You know when you hear something soooo ridiculous, you have to laugh out loud…

Pop sensation (my ar$e) Lady Gaga, as this woman is known, has said she feels she gets a lot of negative sexual attention…

Oh please….this is a woman who walks down the street and pole dancers gasp!!!

She can’t sing particularly well, she can’t dance particularly well, her only talent it seems is being able to dress up in the sluttiest outfits known to man! She looks like she’s in fancy dress and on her way to a pimps and ho's party whenever you see her, and don’t get me started on the make up…

Another great role model for our impressionable daughters…

Totally agree with you on this one. I don't understand the hype behind her. And negative sexual attention?! HELLO... what is she hoping for in those stripper outfits?? Puh-lease...

you know what... i really really dislike lady gaga ( i didnt even just like typing her name!)... she was on american idol a couple of weeks back and for some reason the song, her, the performance, all of it... really disturbed me!

It's all for publicity. The skimpy clothes and then complaints about the so called "negative attention."

Every bit of it is calculated for maximum attention in order to make another dollar. Or pound or euro or whatever it is now.

I don't necessarily have an issue with overt sexuality. As long as you own it and don't expect people to treat you in a way other than the way you represent yourself. Look at Madonna at the end of the 80's and in the 90's. She never appologized for who she was and eventually matured into the hip, fit mom that she is today. Noone is looking at her calling her a slut (or a tart) now, but back in the day... that was another story.

In the case of Lady Gaga... come on, how does she expect people to treat her when she dresses the way she does. She is the anti-role model. Her song about not knowing what bar she's at because she is too drunk (so just dance) isn't exactly the song I want my daughter singing. And neither was "Like a Virgin" when I was seven years old. My poor mother. :)

actually Erin, this is true, i wonder what my mum thought when i was runing around the house in rara skirts and lace fingerless gloves (still have those somewhere i think)

but, you're right, madonna never cared how people looked at her, i still don't want her to be a role model for my daughter though!

at last she had talent though....surely that comes first!

but it is getting worse, more overtly sexual, and the clothes are readly available to all ages in all sizes, we still knew where to draw the line back then.

if i dressed like this now...even as a grown woman, my mum would have something to say...

luckily my daughter thinks she looks ridiculous...i hope that lasts...

Role models for our daughters...Blegh! I've never heard of this lady but I think she forgot to get dressed!

WOW! Guess I'm way behind the times. I haven't heard of this one, but I agree, I don't like the 'get up'. I haven't been real happy with the choices that pop idols like Lyndsey Lohan make. My kids love Disney Movies and she has made some poor choices.

I'll be keeping my daughter clear of shows with this 'singer' on them.

you have got to be kidding me! i am sorry, but i can't be THAT old... she's got to know EXACTLY what she's doing.

Off the wall sells and that is what it's all about.Sad but true. As a person she may be alright. As a "star" it's a bit scary.I don't think she is doing it because it is "who she is." I think she is doing it to sell records and tickets. Not that I approve, but I undersand some people will do almost anything to make it to the TOP...Most of us outgrow the off the wall stuff..and make our mother's very happy in the end.

If she can make a pole dancer cringe, then it is bad! I agree with Dena! Why do they feel the need to dress and act they way they do? Does their performances not attract enough attention? I just don't get it!

Off the subject but still speaking of nasty, skanky, role models...did you hear Lindsey Lohan is allegedly pregnant. And allegedly she has no idea who the father is because after her break up with her girlfriend she allegedly proceeded to sleep around with 25 men in the past month (yes, that is like one man a day...yack!!!)...AND this is the kind of stuff that makes the news : )
