Be My Valentine
Thursday, 12 February 2009
Well Valentines Day is around the corner and I have been shamelessly dropping hints
for a while about the date.
Okay, it’s a little hypocritical; I am the first to complain about the commercialising of anything even remotely worth celebrating. Dave has often told me (usually if an occasion has slipped his mind) that he doesn’t need one day a year to show me how much he loves me, he shows me that every day…yeah yeah, whatever, where’s my chocolates????
So yes, like everything else Valentines Day is over commercialised, it’s a mine field for the younger generation waiting to see if something plops onto the doormat. And I’m sure many men think its something women invented just to test them.
But it is a day to pause in our busy lives perhaps and just show that person we love that we appreciate them, to show that we know love is one of the things that makes life worthwhile, to honour the blessing of giving and recieving love….
We can go back to nagging them the day after!!!!
With love

There is no shame in helping our calendar challenged mates!
Actually...screw the chocolate...I want glittery and fabulously gold signs of affection :) Something that I can will to my children.
In all honesty...just some good time spent together on a couch with a movie and a blanket sounds like the perfect night.
However it's spent...happy heart day :)
