He Was a Frightened Boy Who Refused to Speak - Until a Teacher's Love Broke Through the Silence
After reading Torey Hayden’s 'Ghost Girl' last year and being moved by it, I decided to read a few more of her books. I have read ‘One Child, Just another child and Beautiful child’. Each book is different and each one draws you in to the characters, making the books hard to put down.
I read 'Silent Boy' last night, and was not disappointed.
I have to say I cried most of the way through it. Silent boy is a tragic, heartbreaking and frightening story about love, hate and all the things in between. I would highly recommend this book to everyone, although obviously, not children!
This is a great book - brilliantly written and heart-felt. Torey Hayden is an amazing writer with amazing stories to tell, she has such commitment to each child she works with and that shines through in her writing!
I shall be seeking out another Tory Hayden title tomorrow!
