Some fairytale????

Sunday, 26 April 2009

Yep, just like Cinderella...the princess gets angry with prince charming, a screaming match ensues...he then slaps her about a bit...gets arrested...is waiting to face the charges, proposes to the princess...she, of course gushingly says yes, they get married, have babies and live happily ever after!!!

NO???

No, thats not how I remember it either...the rumours flying around about these two having a baby together is quite frankly a little frightening...bringing babies into violent relationships is NOT a good idea...

But all is not lost, there are rumours of them both going to Barbados to meet her parents and possibly anounce the pregnancy...so if Rihannas dad is anything like mine, he'll take him to one side and give him a taste of his own medicine...while not condoning violence, I think its importnat that Chris Brown gets to show off his boxing skills on an actual man...

Oh look kids, heres a lovely picture of mummy just after daddy beat her...he isn't in the photo kids, cos he was arrested, but you can see how happy we are...

Rihanna, who was recently attacked and beaten by Chris Brown recently reunited with her boyfriend at one of Sean Combs’ homes.

Chris Brown, who is facing criminal charges for the alleged attack, reportedly proposed to Rihanna in Florida, and she accepted his proposal.

The report stated that Chris Brown arranged a quick ceremony on Combs’ Star Island estate, where they were secretly married.

“All she’s ever wanted was to be with him forever. Rihanna is looking for the husband-and-two kids deal before she turns 25. She believes in fairytales, and she wants to live hers with Chris. She was totally up front and confessed to him, ‘I can’t live without you,” Contact music quoted an insider as saying.

The couple was later spotted again disembarking a jet in L.A., where Brown will face charges relating to the alleged attack.

The couple’s relationship had already been rocky, and Rihanna was scared Chris might dump her hearing she was possibly pregnant.

“She was scared he would react badly,” says an insider.

This Chris/Rihanna situation has been a bit discussion point on both sides of the Atlantic.

Firstly violence in any relationship is wrong.

However, this is the reality for a lot of people both men and women who are not in the media spotlight.

The media's rush to judgement in this case has missed opportunity an to discuss to issue of the use of violence to resolve issues when you are angry.

I had posted an video on my blog talking about masculinity in the black community. It talks about how our society encourages the use to violence to resolve issues. So it doesn't totally surprise me when the young people today decide to act on this so called "advice". Violence in our society is often shown to young people as good and right. Look at the top films, TV show, computer games and popular culture. Violence is not shown to young people as something bad and should be avoided but as good, something that is sexy, attractive and should be embraced.

What people need learn is the destructive of these relationships. How it is easy to be involved in such relationships and that you probably know someone who is in one or has been in one.

What we need to have is an honest conversation on this issue, How people often turn a blind eye when they witness or know when it exist. when we start this conversation maybe we can change peoples mindset to the use of violence when resolving conflict.

Ugh, this makes me SO mad. I love Rhianna and I really hoped that she would come through this as a roll model, not go right back to him and most likely allow it to happen again

A relationship that is built on violence is sick. Why do beautiful, young women keep going back to monsters?

This is absolutely horrible and really disturbing.

Honestly, if they are pregnant, their children are going to find out about what happened. What does that show your children about yourself considering you went back to him and so soon afterwards?!Great role models there.

So sad. She needs someone in her life who will tell her what she deserves.

This makes me sad because I have a sister who is just like this. And it's happened over and over and over and it's heartbreaking for the kids involved. My sister finally--after many years--came to her senses and divorced her abusive husband but women like this really need help.

WoW! I just do not know what to say except that she will learn the "harder" way! Some women seem to enjoy this sort of thing!

    I know I'm late - it's been a weird day...

My cousin is in an abusive relationship. He's alienating her from the fam (especially her mom), they only see his friends, and he'd followed her when she's out, among many other things. I know she thinks his possessiveness means that he loves her but it just means he's insecure.

It is sad isn't it, we all need to do more, Trojan made a valid point...we all condemn the stars and celebs for this, but it goes on around us, we condemn the 'untouchables' because we don't actually have to DO anything...we are all guilty of this i suppose, i know i've turned a blind eye to keep the peace ore than once...not to physical violence, but to verbal abuse...which is also a huge problem, and can be just as damaging and violent...but I don't think I will in future.

But I don't think the media had a choice but to rush and judge...be honest, we all did, No-one would have tolerated them even asking the questions, asking for the other side, because it would presume (in the public eye) that there may have been an excuse...because even if she attacked him, even if she'd come at him with a baseball bat...she's half his size and weight, he's supposed to love her, he could have restrained her without repeatedly beating her...and then walked away.

it is also true, that they are young...so....they need to grow up, move away from this destructive relationship and show some responsibility...not bloody brign a baby into it!

if a man can do this to a woman.....well!!!!lets just say he wouldn't be my first choice for a father for my children...not even my last!

    Yikes.

Sometimes I wonder how I would behave if I were desperate.
