Having a fast metabolism does not give you the right to judge!!!

Wednesday 10 June 2009

My husband has a fast metabolism, he doesn’t gain weight, he is fit and healthy and can run 5k with barely breaking a sweat, he plays football, and even though he eats like a horse, and is in his forties, he’s still trim. Bloody sickening really…I hope it catches up with him one day, just so maybe he’ll throw a bit of empathy my way.

Well, I’ve been having a moan about gaining some weight and said I thought I’d join a gym, maybe slimming world or weight watchers!!!

My darling husband said “you don’t need all that.”

Naturally I smiled, thinking he was telling me I was fine as I was, I waited, wide eyed for a compliment on my lovely body…until….

“No, you don’t need to spend money on all that rubbish, you just need someone to stand behind you and scream
RUN!”

"And perhaps cut down on the cakes," he added in case the last blow didn't score a direct hit!

Wow, now I feel really great about myself!!! NOT!

Better get those running shoes!

One thing I learned many years ago is to never ever comment on my wife's weight. Looks like your hubby didn't get his copy of the rule book when he said "I do."

maybe he should be running.. when he sees you with that baseball bat in your hand.

speaking of judging... are you finished with jury duty? maybe I missed that post.

My response to any question of my wife's weight "You're beautiful honey"

I don't care if she gains so much weight that her ass is knocking lamps off the table, that is the only thing I'm ever saying.

Sounds like he may soon have someone running behind HIM and screaming! I recently remarked something similar to my husband about wanting to get in great shape and his reply: "Why? Who do you have to impress?" Nice, huh? Oh well, he'll be sorry when I can no longer make it to the mailbox and back without getting winded!

The nerve! Has marriage taught him nothing?
I think you should start lifting some weights; before long you'll be able to kick his ass.
    (only kidding; funny post.)

Dawg...if he says it again i bloody well will!

    Randi...LOL!

Rachel, thanks for following, I'm not sure if its good that your husband doesn't think you have to impress him, or bad that he thinks theres no need to look nice lol!!

Maureen...LOL...actually, cos of all the lifting with the boys, i am freakishly strong, i am always the one called on for assistance with moving e.t.c....i bet i could kick his ass now....well, if i tied him up first...and had a baseball bat!

Wow, I am surprised he didn't turn and RUN!!! after that. Yeah, I hate to see people with that too. I use to be the same way, could eat and eat and not gain a pound.....till I had shaun and those days are gone.

My man has a high metabolism and it's disgusting. He snacks all day long and eats 4 meals a day. Ugh!

I've said, "I'm fat, you can say it" but he absolutely refuses, saying, "I won't ever say that." Aww! Personally, I think it's because he knows better. ; )

Personally I have to update my motabolism with hot food and cod-liver oil. Works fine but I am forced to invest in heavy mouthwash too.

You do know you're well within your rights to punch him in his firm, free-of-fat tummy for that remark, right? Okay, taking advice from the divorced, single woman may not be the best idea, but you can at least give him dirty looks for a week.

Mental P mama...LOL, yep, alive and out running!

Dragon...this is my point, its easy for men to say isn't it, he hasn't had to contend with pregnancy stretching his body out of recognition...

J.J...ah, you man has the same rule book as Tom and RileyScott...I need to get dave one of those!

    Taitle...maybe i should try this...

Candace...love it, i'm tempted to go with option number one...and he'd better go running, he wont be getting any other exercise indoors for a while ;)
