12 angry men/women

Wednesday 20 May 2009

Just a very quick post to apologise if I am neglectful posting comments over the next week or so. I have been called up for Jury service. I've been there since Monday, climbing the walls and going stir crazy....I have been sworn in on a case and its totally awful and causing me sleepless nights (as if I needed that!!!)

I am keeping up as much as I can, as I miss you all, and it will (hopefully) be over next Friday and I can have my life back!!!

Sorry about that. I get called up every 3 years, whether I need it or not. Thankfully, I never get picked for a jury. It pays to be involved with someone who works in Security. :)

I've only been called 2x in the 36 years we've lived here. There are some that are called all the time.

I hope your case is interesting, not too bloody, or gross, and you can come to a conclusion quickly.

i hate jury duty, its so boring! When I was called to Jury duty this past year, not only was I in jury duty, but the wi-fi didn't work, and they had a boring church service on cause the Obama's went to church

Never personally been called, but I hear it's pretty awful.
    It's a great movie, though. :)

You know...it could actually be an exiting experience! I know how you can get out of it though...tomorrow....as things are just starting...stand up and point to someone...anyone...and scream..."He did it!!!"....they will let you go early. I'm almost sure of it!

    We'll miss you!

I've never had to serve (a perk of being disabled) but I've heard it's pretty boring. Hope you're done quickly!

    Sorry Sal,
Can't believe you have to serve with young children.

I'm rescheduled for July! Oh boy.

thanks everyone, its so hard, its a horrid case and i am very aware that getting it wrong either way is going to ruin lives...i'm not really all that comfortable knowing that such a small group of us have the power to do so on a small cross section of evidence...i wish it was a boring case really....

and i never realised that sitting doing nothing was so exhausting!
