Wraparound dresses are the enemy!!!

Wednesday 8 April 2009

Wraparound dresses are a bad idea…a worse idea even than hipster jeans with a thong showing…not that I am a thong person; I think there is merely about a three week window when you can get away with a thong…somewhere in your late teens...unless you’re Madonna of course.

So finally in the UK spring has sprung, the sun is shining and it is finally warm enough to allow our milk bottle white legs to be seen by the general public…

So I went into my wardrobe and dug out a dress…gasp…it’s been a while…if only I had thought it through, after all, it is England, and even if its warm, its still going to be breezy…so while I didn’t mind showing off my legs below the knee, I was a little less impressed with the strong gust of wind that took my dress and made it land up around my neck somewhere giving the whole world a view of my comfy cotton knickers…(insert huge blush here)

And lets be honest here, I’m no Marilyn Monroe…but it could have been worse, I could have been in a thong and flashed my arse too…not sure what’s worse, flashing my granny knickers making the world think I’m a frigid frump, or wishing I was sporting a racy thong…whilst while making the world as a whole gasp at my audacity for thinking I looked okay in one, might make them think I was at least not quite over the hill…

Big sigh…another place I can never show my face….mind you would anyone recognise it, after all, my face was perfectly well covered…with my skirt!!!!

How funny...embarassing...but really funny : ) We can't wear the wraparound dresses here in Oklahoma either for that exact reason. Too bad too because they are uber cute!

A great story. So glad that I found your blog...Will be back often.

Hope you will stop by my blog. I am a new blogger. This is my second month in the world of BLOG. I am great give away this month. This drawing will be the last day of April.
Every comment you leave throughout the month will enter your name in the drawing. This NEW blogger was so touched by all the comments I got on the Blog Party Give Away,(over 300) that I decided to make this a monthly GIFT...
Also, if you mention blog telling about the monthly giveaway, you will have your name entered 10 extra times...Just be sure and let me know that you did. How is that for an incentive?
I was so blown away by all the responses that I wanted to email each person personally... I did love reading all of them..I am continuing to introduce my family members. In May, there will be some fun blogs coming from Disney World with the grandkids. I hope to blog every night, in case you like a good trip report. And there will also be a great Disney giveaway.
I am so thankful for all my new friends.
